Company Profile

Kimberley Vet Centre

Company Overview

The Kimberley Vet Centre is primarily a small animal practice (with a smattering of wildlife and large animals) which is based in Kununurra in the Kimberley region and was established in 1991. Our main clinic is located in Kununurra, and we have an out-clinic in Wyndham which operates one day a month. During the Dry Season (April to October) we provide a service in the town of Halls Creek, located 350 kms south of Kununurra, where we have a dedicated room located at the airport.
The Kimberley Vet Centre is the base for KANE Inc (Kimberley Animals Nature & Education Inc) which is a not-for-profit organisation that was founded in 2000. We rescue and rehabilitate orphaned and injured wildlife, and vaccinated and desex and re-home,orphaned and abandoned domestic pets. KANE is completely administered by volunteers and funded by our own fundraising efforts.

Company History

The practice owner has been based in Kununurra for 29 years, and has a particular interest in complementary therapies and Eastern Medicine. Our associate vet is responsible for all the day to day surgery, which is primarily routine de-sexings, stitch ups, exploratory laparotomies and lump removals. We are now lucky enough to have Kim Smith, a Specialist surgeon, based in Darwin to which we refer orthopaedic and complicated surgeries.
