Description
Experienced Vet or New Graduate positions available!
Move to the Tropics – enjoy the sun, rainforest, Great Barrier Reef and much more..
Tropical Vet Services is a privately owned group of clinics based on the North Queensland Tropical coast between Babinda in the North and Ayr in the south. We have 5 full service clinics and 3 smaller satellite clinics.
All our clinics are mixed animal clinics, and our 5 main clinics are set up with full in-house blood machines, digital x-ray, ultrasounds (small and large animal), endoscopes and much more.
Our group of practices currently employ 23 Veterinarians across our clinics and are looking to grow our team.
We encourage all our vets to pursue their individual interests, a few currently pursued by our team members include:
- Small Animal orthopaedics (including cruciate and fracture repairs)
- Bovine Reproduction (including ET, FTAI and BBSE’s), nutrition and production.
- Equine reproduction (including AI’s), dentals and medicine
- Small animal behaviour
- Wildlife work (including Crocodiles and Cassowaries)
- Remote Indigenous Community work on Cape York
2 of our clinics are currently looking to fill vacancies for either an experienced Veterinarian wanting to relocate to our beautiful part of the world or new graduates wanting to start out in a job where they will be well supported. As part of that support, we have an established new graduate program, which includes monthly zoom hook ups within Tropical Vet Services to discuss cases or topics, tutorials with visiting specialists and when time allows days out on farm doing routine horse or cattle procedures.
We do have specialists that work with us, so at times we can offer internal referrals for those cases that need it, and North Queensland is blessed with travelling specialists in Dermatology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Surgery that visit the region every few months for those extra tricky cases.
Salary will be well above award and is negotiable – afterhours on call work is part of the job and you will be well compensated for it (including a 4-day work week every week).
We provide each of our vets a continuing education budget of up to $4000 per annum to be spent at a course, conference or further study in an area of their choice.
We strive to be a workplace where we offer our clients the best care their animals can get while enjoying ourselves both at work and during our days and weekends off.
