At Sugarland Animal Hospital, we are building a better way of working: a dedicated Medical / Inpatient / Triage team whose sole focus is delivering gold-standard patient care, meaningful case continuity, and strong teamwork — without the pressure of a full consulting load.
This position is designed for experienced vets who want to practice medicine properly, collaborate closely with a skilled nursing team, and genuinely influence patient outcomes.
What This Role Looks Like
Lead medical case management & inpatient rounds
Provide triage & stabilisation support without a packed consult schedule
Perform diagnostic & procedural medicine (cytology, ultrasound aspirates, sampling etc.)
Work with visiting internal medicine specialists to expand skills and deepen understanding
Spend time with patients, clients & teams without feeling rushed
Communicate thoroughly and thoughtfully instead of squeezing updates between appointments
There may be occasional consults associated with emergency or ongoing cases, but no GP appointment blocks and no pressure to fill rooms every 15 minutes.
