The Sydney School of Veterinary Science is currently recruiting for a resident in Livestock Health and Production, commencing in March 2021:

This three-year, full-time program includes a mix of clinical and research training and will enable the successful applicant to fulfil the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists credentialing requirements for specialisation in Dairy Cattle Medicine and Production.  The residency is directly supervised by an ACVIM Large Animal Internal Medicine board-certified specialist and ANZCVS Dairy Medicine and Production specialist.   It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be actively engaged with a Dairy related research  project providing opportunity to network across the industry and to develop analytical and consultancy skills over the course of the project. 

The Veterinary Livestock Teaching and Research Unit based in Camden is integrated with the Farm Animal Health Group at the University of Sydney and has good collaborative relationships with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, Charles Stuart University, University of Technology of Sydney, University of California and University of Minnesota providing opportunities to engage in collaborative farm focused projects that apply emerging technologies to promote animal health production and well being.

Requirements

Applicants must have completed a rotating internship or have equivalent clinical experience in practice.

Applications are restricted to veterinarians with a degree registerable in New South Wales.  

Candidates must have Australian citizenship or Australian permanent residency.
