We invite you to join our Team at Capricorn Vet Surgery, a privately owned, long established, mixed animal veterinary practice. We are seeking a Small Animal or Mixed Practice veterinarian to compliment our team of 4 vets at Capricorn Vet Surgery, located in Rockhampton, Central Queensland.
Our small animal practice services a wide and varied clientele of companion animal and working dogs, providing an interesting and diverse case load. The successful applicant needs to be keen to complement and grow our practice.
Working alongside 3 experienced veterinarians, the position available would suit, but is not limited to, a new or recent graduate and is considered full time. We recognise that a productive work environment requires a flexible working roster and encourage a sustainable work – lifestyle balance. We are offering a flexible working roster, with a 1:4 on call roster, giving you ample opportunity to explore the remarkable diversity our region has to offer.
We are blessed with a very loyal customer base and have an exceptional support team of highly qualified, passionate, motivated and professional nursing and admin staff.
Our practice consists of 90% companion/small animals and 10% large animals, comprising of companion/small animals and working dogs, equine pleasure and stud medicine, and production and stud cattle. We host small animal specialist surgeons and supply veterinary attendance at racing codes.
Capricorn Vet Surgery is a modern, purpose-built clinic, offering a full range of small and large animal veterinary services including full surgical and hospital facilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope and inhouse laboratory
Rockhampton is a major and expanding regional centre that offers excellent facilities. Rockhampton is like nowhere else in Australia – the Beef Capital of Australia, it can be described as where country culture meets the relaxed coastal lifestyle, with the welcoming beachside towns of Yeppoon and Emu Park an easy 30 minute drive away and Keppel Island just 15minutes off shore.
We are offering an attractive salary package;
- Excellent salary package, above award and commensurate with experience.
- After hours bonuses.
- 5 weeks annual leave.
- 1 in 4 weekend roster and 1 night per week on call.
- 1 week annual study leave with $2000 toward conference registration and accommodation, after 1 year of employment.
- A work-lifestyle balance with a nominated ½ day off per week.
- Relocation assistance if required.
- Access to VIN.
- AVA and Veterinary Board registration and Radiation license paid.
- Fully Equipped Veterinary vehicle available during working hours.
